Join the next episode of the OEMC Science Webinar Series on June 11 from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. The Open-Earth-Monitor Cyberinfrastructure (OEMC) project, funded by the EU Horizon Europe research and innovation programme, organizes monthly science webinars hosting researchers working with Earth observations, geospatial environmental data, monitoring networks and alert systems and their applications.

This special session will introduce the three international data centres based at the Federal Institute of Hydrology (BfG). Simon Mischel will speak about the Global Runoff Data Centre (GRDC), while Matthias Zink and Philipp Saile will introduce the International Soil Moisture Network (ISMN) and the GEMS/Water Data Centre (GWDC). Together, the heads of the globally recognized centres will show how long-term environmental monitoring data can support hydrology, water quality assessment, climate research, Earth observation applications and environmental decision-making worldwide.
The webinar will provide an overview of the role, impact and global relevance of these data infrastructures, while highlighting the importance of open and accessible environmental data for science, policy and operational monitoring systems.
The webinar will be held on Zoom.
